Notwithstanding anything in the foregoing provision
a person may be registered for more than one such electoral
division or ward and may vote in any such electoral division or ward for which he is registered at an election to fill a
casual vacancy.
11.
(1) The following persons are disqualified from
being registered as electors or voting at an election,
namely
(a) Persons of unsound mind and idiots; provided
if duly
that a person of unsound mind may,
registered as an elector, vote during a lucid
interval.
(b) A person who has been convicted of treason or
felony, for which he has been sentenced to death
or to any term of imprisonment exceeding twelve
months.
(2) The following persons are disqualified from being
registered as electors or voting at an election held within
seven years after the date of conviction, namely ·
(a) A person found guilty on indictment of a
corrupt practice within the meaning of any
enactment for the time being in force providing
for the punishment of corrupt or illegal practices. (b) A person found guilty on summary conviction or on
indictment of an illegal practice within the
meaning of any enactment for the time being in
force providing for the punishment of corrupt or
illegal practices.
(a)
A person who is convicted of an offence under
Section 3 or Section 4 of the Misdemeanors
Punishment Ordinance, 1898.
(3) A person shall not be disqualified from voting at
an election by reason that he is employed for payment by or
on behalf of a candidate at such election, so long as the
employment is legal.
